Eight medals for Team BC
|
All week one sports with the exception of triathlon were in action at the Canada Summer Games with Team BC taking home eight medals – three gold, two silver, and three bronze.

GOLD: Athletics 3000m Steeplechase - Grace Featherstonhaugh (New Westminster)
GOLD: Athletics Hammer – Sam Willett (Victoria)
GOLD: Cycling Mt. Bike Relay - Rhys Verner, Holden Jones, Sean Fincham (Squamish)
SILVER: Athletics Hammer - Peter Behncke (Burnaby)
SILVER: Diving 1m Springboard – Bryden Hattie (Victoria)
BRONZE: Athletics 3000m Steeplechase - Nikolas Colyn (Langley)
BRONZE: Cycling Mountain Bike Relay – Julia Long (Whistler), Lucy Schick (Gibsons), Emily Unterberger (Revelstoke)
BRONZE: Diving 3m Springboard - Coral Strugnell (Victoria)

Volleyball-Beach Women - Team Quebec 2 Team BC 1 (13-21, 21-18, 15-11)
Volleyball-Beach Men - Team BC 2 Team Quebec 0 (21-16, 21-13)
Six Team BC boats qualified for finals on the second day of rowing competition. Leading the way was the Lightweight Women’s Double, Women’s Single Sculls, Men’s Four, and Women’s Four who all won their heats.
In Sailing, after three days on the water Team BC boats are all in the top five with John Owen in the Laser sitting in second and the female 29er team of Emily Bugeja and Hannah Smith also in second.

Jeux du Canada Games Festival |
The Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries Canada Games Festival will run from July 29 to August 12 at the Forks (closed on August 8 & 9). The festival will celebrate the many unique facets of Canadian culture by showcasing professional artists from across Canada. With over 150 acts performing over 11 days, there will truly be something for everyone as we showcase the talent and diversity of Canada’s finest performers. There is transportation from the Athletes Village to and from the Forks from 4:00pm until 10:00pm.
