The large B.C. crowd at the first ringette game of the 2015 Canada Winter Games saw a hard-fought and tough loss for Team BC. After an early goal for Nova Scotia, Danielle Wall (Burnaby) and captain, Nina Tajbakhsh (North Vancouver), scored two goals within five minutes to bring it to 2-1. In the second period, Nova Scotia went ahead 2-3 until a thrilling last minute goal by Tajbakhsh to make it 3-3 at the end of regulation. Team Nova Scotia went on to score in the first four minutes of the sudden-victory overtime period to clinch the win.
Though disappointed about the end result of the game, Tajbakhsh is looking to keep the team's spirit up and confidence high as the Games continue. "It's teams that can come back from a sudden-victory loss like this that end up winning medals. Overcoming adversity is something we've prepared ourselves for," said Tajbakhsh.
Up next, Team BC faces Team Prince Edward Island on February 15th at 11:30am.
