Jenna Buglioni had a hat trick and Jenn Gardiner scored two goals as Team BC defeated Alberta 6-1 in women’s hockey at the 2019 Canada Winter Games.
Bugilioni (Port Moody) opened scoring for Team BC in the first period.
Team BC had a burst of offence in the second scoring three goals to make it 4-1 as the teams skated into the third period.
Bugilioni had her second and third goals of the night, while Gardiner (Surrey) and added a single in the middle frame.
Rounding out scoring for Team BC in the third period was Sarah Paul (West Kelowna) and Gardiner with her second of the night.
Albert outshot BC 26 to 12 and goalie Kiara Stecko (Kelowna) earned the win.
Team BC will play Ontario at 4 p.m. on Monday.
