Today marked day one for Team BC Long Track at the 2019 Canada Winter Games. With the first official practice in the books, the athletes are poised for competition to begin tomorrow. 

Team BC athletes were unphased by the more than -20 degrees temperature and the snow that fell for most of the day. The outdoor natural ice oval at Great Chief Park is a 400m speed skating oval that operates in the winter. 

Today's training featured both the male and female athletes on Team BC. 

Tomorrow's competition for Team BC begins at 9:30 am with the men’s 1500m final. Following that, the women’s 1500m final will take place at 11:00 am.
