Team BC takes seventh place in women's volleyball
Team BC vs Team Quebec - Game Summary for seventh place

Team BC played Team Quebec at Sport for Life Centre in a match for seventh place on Friday. 

It was an evenly played contest.

The first set was very close with Team BC coming out on top 25-22. Kayla Oxland (Vancouver) served well to lead the way.

In the second set Kiera Van Ryk (Vancouver) and Sydney Grills (Vancouver) started to dominate at the net. Team BC won the set 25-20

The third set was close tied at 12-12. Grills had a huge dig to keep the ball alive and win a key point that was the turning point in the set eventually winning 25-16.

"It was good, it was hard because it's our last game," said Van Ryk following the game. "It was good to finish off strong and play as a team together and just continue to get better as a team."

Team BC vs Team Manitoba - Friday, Aug. 11 Game summary 

Team BC was able to shake off the disappointment of not being in the medal round and had a solid performance against Team Newfoundland/Labrador Friday morning at Sport for Life Centre in Winnipeg.

Team BC won the first set 25-18 behind some good serving of Cara Kovaks (Vancouver).

In the second set Sarah McKillican, (Comox) had a strong game for Team BC as they won 25-12. McKillican had 24 assists and three aces.

Tiffany Westerberg (Maple Ridge) got some key blocks and points to lead Team BC to the third set victory 25-20. Erin Mutch (#1, libero, Victoria) was the star of the match for Team BC. She passed with excellent efficiency and also had 14 digs.

Team BC now plays for seventh place against Team Quebec.
