Team BC secures spot in medal round in women's softball
BC 10, Alberta 8
BC jumped to an early 5-1 lead over their Prairie neighbors after three innings, before Alberta rattled off seven unanswered runs to put BC behind the eight ball.  RBI hits by Taylor Gillis (Langley), Daniella Villo (Surrey), and Emma Entzminger (Victoria) potted BC four runs in the top of the 6th inning, acquiring a lead that they wouldn’t relinquish.

Emma Entzminger (Victoria) went 3-4 with 3 RBIs and two runs scores.  Julia Wright (Langley) collected the win again for BC.

Ontario 6, BC 3
In a battle of the last undefeated teams in the tournament, somebody had to lose and unfortunately today it was Team BC. BC struggled against some stout Ontario pitching.

An athletic sliding catch by Callum Pilgrim (Abbotsford) to end the inning and save a couple runs ignited the crowd.

With the win over Alberta Thursday, BC secured a spot in the medal rounds.  Team BC will cap off pool play with game against Saskatchewan Friday (14:00 CDT).

Playoffs begin on Saturday.  All games are live-streamed at www.canadagames.tv.ca.
